Restaurant Area Manager

About the role

Our client, an international bakery chain based in Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead a group of bakery locations. You will be responsible for driving sales, profitability and operational excellence across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Increase sales and profit margins for all stores in the assigned area.
• Ensure product quality, service standards, and housekeeping meet brand expectations.
• Manage staffing, training, performance management and employee relations.
• Oversee financial management, budgeting and reporting.
• Enforce company policies, procedures and brand standards consistently.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of area‑manager experience in restaurant or fast‑food environments, overseeing multiple sites.
• Willingness to work weekends, evenings and public holidays.
• Ability to travel between locations and stay away from home when required.
• Own car and a valid driver’s licence.
• Proven track record of financial growth and people development.
• Strong business acumen and customer‑service orientation.
