Renal Registered Nurse / Clinical Technologist

About the role

Life Healthcare Group is seeking a qualified Renal Registered Nurse / Clinical Technologist to join its Life Renal Dialysis unit in Panorama, Johannesburg. Reporting to the Renal Unit Manager, the professional will deliver holistic nursing care to renal patients and support the operation of specialised dialysis equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic and specialised nursing care to renal patients, ensuring high‑quality outcomes.
• Communicate continuously with patients and families about condition and treatment plans.
• Administer medication in line with ethical and legal frameworks.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies, protocols and quality management systems.
• Advocate for patients, coordinate with case management and notify doctors of any concerns.
• Manage stock, staff hours and leave in accordance with unit policies.
• Implement infection control and SHEQ measures to maintain a safe environment.
• Conduct equipment checks daily, report faults and educate staff on proper use of dialysis instrumentation.
• Ensure accurate record‑keeping and documentation according to legal requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in Nursing.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Clinical Technology (Renal).
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Technologist.
