Remote Staff Accountant (EST business hours)

About the role

We are a dynamic US‑based company seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to support our financial operations remotely. The role requires availability during Eastern Standard Time business hours and offers the flexibility to work from anywhere.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.
• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Assist with audits, tax filings, and financial planning initiatives.
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Identify and implement process improvements and best practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior capacity.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Availability to work during EST business hours.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP.
• Experience with general ledger management and month‑end close procedures.
