Remote Cybersecurity Specialist – Penetration Testing

About the role

We are seeking a Remote Cybersecurity Specialist to perform penetration testing for a global information services leader. The contractor will assess the security posture of networks, web applications and APIs, delivering actionable findings to protect critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments, including network, web application and API penetration testing.
• Run vulnerability scans, analyze results and identify security weaknesses.
• Develop and execute custom exploits to validate risks and simulate real‑world attack scenarios.
• Document findings in detailed reports with remediation recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to triage issues and verify remediation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in penetration testing using both manual and automated techniques.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret technical data and communicate results clearly.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK and CIS benchmarks.
• Understanding of network protocols, Windows and Linux operating systems, and cloud security principles.

Required skills

• Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Metasploit (or similar tools).
• Scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, CIS benchmarks.
• Experience with Windows, Linux and cloud environments.
