Relationship Manager – Agricultural Lending

About the role

The Relationship Manager will own the end‑to‑end client lifecycle for commercial and development farmers, driving loan origination and portfolio growth. The role combines client relationship management, credit assessment and collaboration with internal specialists to deliver tailored financing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and present the company’s insurance and loan products to prospective and existing farming clients, aiming to expand the loan book.
• Analyse client financial statements and business cases to assess loan viability and recommend structuring options.
• Maintain portfolio health by monitoring NPL ratios, net interest margin and ensuring compliance with credit policies.
• Engage clients through regular visits, calls and meetings, resolving escalated issues promptly.
• Collaborate with Agriculture Specialists, Credit Managers and legal teams to structure and approve complex transactions.

Required profile

• Three‑year qualification in commerce, business, banking or a related field.
• 3–5 years experience managing client relationships in a financial, customer‑facing environment.
• Ability to assess agricultural business cases, interpret financial statements and perform financial calculations.
• Basic knowledge of credit principles, relevant legislation and risk management practices.
