About the role
The City of Ekurhuleni is launching a Youth Employment Programme to give unemployed young people practical workplace experience and skills development. The role provides exposure to real‑world environmental health work while helping participants build a foundation for future career growth.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct ward‑based door‑to‑door education and surveys, visiting a set number of houses within a designated ward.
- Provide information, education and communication on rodent control and other environmental health matters.
- Distribute pamphlets and mobilise community members for education campaigns and block meetings.
- Follow up on identified infested premises and submit feedback reports.
- Network and liaise with Environmental Health Practitioners.
- Participate in rodent control education campaigns.
Required profile
- Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
- Proof of the NQF level applicable to the qualifications may be required.
