Technical Advisor – Extensive Ruminants

About the role

The Technical Advisor – Extensive Ruminants will promote sales of De Heus’ extensive ruminant product range across Vryburg and Modimolle. The role combines field sales, technical support and customer relationship management to meet regional budget targets and grow market share.

Key responsibilities

• Sell and support the extensive ruminant portfolio to existing and prospective customers, achieving monthly and annual sales budgets.
• Maintain regular visit schedules, build strong relationships and identify needs of top clients on a quarterly basis.
• Monitor market pricing trends and competitor activity to inform pricing strategies.
• Provide technical advice on ruminant nutrition, forage production and pasture management, and produce quarterly technical articles.
• Collect production data from beef and sheep feedlots, participate in study groups and trade shows.
• Handle administration, non‑conformance reporting, debtor management and prepare accurate weekly and monthly sales reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, B.Sc. Hons or a 3‑year agricultural diploma.
• Relevant experience in a similar sales/technical role within the livestock sector.
• Valid Code 08/EB driver’s licence and eligibility to register as a Professional Nutritionist.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building and problem‑solving abilities.
