Registered Nurse (Trauma & Emergency) x2

About the role

Lenmed is recruiting two Registered Nurses for the Trauma and Emergency department at the Royal Hospital and Heart Centre in Royldene, Kimberley, Northern Cape. The nurse delivers safe, cost-effective patient care in line with hospital standards and policies, and provides direct and/or indirect nursing care, including assessing, planning, executing and supervising care to meet patient needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in line with the Scope of Practice and take full responsibility for these activities
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients
• Attend shift handover reports at the start of each shift
• Communicate effectively with patients about their care
• Promote patient health and wellbeing
• Audit health records to ensure compliance
• Ensure stock is well controlled, managed, charged and credited correctly
• Maintain good relations with patients, relatives and visitors

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse or Midwife, or an equivalent NQF 7 qualification
• Relevant qualification and experience in a specialist area
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts
• Capacity to uphold health practice standards required by accredited bodies and health legislation
