About the role
The Naledi‑Nkanyezi Private Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to work on its Surgical Ward. The role involves delivering high‑quality patient care in line with South African Nursing Council standards and supporting the surgical team throughout patient journeys.
Key responsibilities
- Provide nursing care according to SANC, Department of Health and National Core standards, ensuring patient safety and advocacy.
- Supervise, organise and lead nursing staff, maintaining therapeutic standards and quality of care.
- Participate in internal and external audits such as DOH, SANC and risk audits.
- Document and maintain accurate medication records, conduct ward rounds and collaborate with doctors to develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor nursing activities to ensure compliance with protocols, security and safety of the patient environment.
Required profile
- Diploma in General Nursing with current registration on the South African Nursing Council.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) qualification.
- Minimum experience in a Surgical Ward; additional advantage for ACLS, PALS or ATLS certification.
