Registered Nurse – Renal Qualified (Nephrology)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Registered Nurse with specialised renal qualifications to join a dedicated renal unit in Knysna. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality nephrology care to patients undergoing renal treatment, supporting both clinical outcomes and patient education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialised nursing care to patients receiving renal and nephrology treatment.
• Monitor and assess patients throughout their treatment, responding promptly to any changes in clinical condition.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in line with clinical protocols.
• Educate and support patients and their families regarding renal care and ongoing treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with infection‑prevention and quality standards.
• Collaborate with nephrologists and the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• Nephrology qualification is essential.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Proven experience within a renal unit.
• Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
