Registered Nurse – ICU

About the role

Life Bay View Hospital is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join its Multi‑care ICU team. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will deliver holistic, high‑quality nursing care to critically ill patients and support the hospital’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive basic and specialised nursing care to ICU patients.
• Communicate continuously with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Administer medication in line with ethical and legal standards.
• Maintain and monitor ICU equipment, reporting any faults promptly.
• Manage stock, staff hours, and leave according to unit policies.
• Enforce infection control and SHEQ procedures to ensure a safe environment.
• Document patient records accurately and comply with legal requirements.
• Support doctors by executing prescriptions and attending patient rounds.

Required profile

• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• Post‑basic qualification in Critical Care Science.
• Current SANC registration.
• Strong customer orientation and teamwork skills.
