Regional Quality Manager - Africa

About the role

Weir is seeking a Regional Quality Manager to lead the quality function across Africa. You will drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with world‑class standards, and reduce the cost of poor quality while supporting sustainable mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for the Africa Quality function and inspire teams to achieve ISO 9001‑aligned standards.
• Monitor, analyse and act on quality metrics to identify trends and proactively resolve issues.
• Champion continuous‑improvement initiatives that reduce defects and optimise processes across manufacturing, engineering and supply‑chain teams.
• Oversee daily quality activities including audits, inspections and corrective‑action management.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and assist customers with quality‑related challenges.
• Promote a zero‑harm safety culture throughout all quality operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in quality management and leadership within manufacturing environments such as foundries, machine shops, rubber manufacturing or heavy‑equipment assembly.
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams and foster an inclusive work environment.
• Demonstrated track record of reducing cost of poor quality and improving profitability.
