Regional Motor Organiser – Western Cape

About the role

The Regional Motor Organiser will develop and implement mechanisms and strategies to increase motor sector membership for the union in the Western Cape region, coordinating council activities and supporting regional initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to grow regional motor membership.
• Coordinate, service, capacitate and organise the Regional Motor Shopstewards Council.
• Facilitate the region’s participation in MIBCO meetings.
• Implement national motor programmes at the regional level.
• Execute instructions from the Regional Secretary and constitutional structures.

Required profile

• Matric or equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge and experience of trade unions, bargaining councils and the CCMA.
• Understanding of relevant labour legislation, case law and collective agreements in the motor sector.
• Familiarity with SETA objectives and the regulatory framework for skills development and employment equity.
• Computer literate with a valid driver’s licence and a roadworthy vehicle; willingness to travel extensively.
• Multilingual with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated change agent, solution‑oriented team player with strong multitasking and time‑management abilities.
• High‑level report‑writing, facilitation, mentoring, conflict‑resolution and negotiation skills.
