Regional Organiser – Western Cape

About the role

The Regional Organiser will coordinate all union activities across the Western Cape region, representing members and implementing directives from regional and national structures. This role involves extensive travel, stakeholder engagement and the delivery of quality services to union members.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanisms and strategies to ensure members receive quality service.
• Recruit and educate members on NUMSA’s role in the workplace.
• Attend collective bargaining negotiations as Chief Negotiator.
• Oversee implementation of collective agreements in relevant sectors.
• Develop regional transformation and employment equity plans.
• Represent NUMSA at meetings, forums and committees.
• Execute instructions from the Regional Secretary and constitutional structures.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of trade unions, bargaining councils, CCMA and relevant labour legislation.
• Understanding of collective agreements within NUMSA sectors and SETA objectives.
• Familiarity with the regulatory framework for skills development and employment equity.
• Computer literacy.
• Valid driver’s licence and a road‑worthy vehicle.
• Willingness to travel extensively with flexible working hours.
