Regional Financial Controller

About the role

The Regional Financial Controller will oversee financial controls across multiple sites for a leading retailer and wholesaler. This role is ideal for a strategic finance professional who can ensure compliance, accuracy and efficiency in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce strong financial controls across regional sites and ensure compliance with company policies and audit standards.
• Manage emergency payments, buyouts, petty cash submissions and audit cash floats.
• Supervise document flow to Accounts Payable, maintain accurate records and timely processing.
• Administer insurance claims, fleet card management and fixed‑asset verification.
• Lead regional stock control, coordinate stocktakes and investigate variances.
• Oversee Goods in Transit tracking, GRV accuracy and purchase order creation for non‑stock items.
• Ensure procurement and financial policy compliance, liaise with auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, reconciliations and audit trails for statutory, management and ESG reporting.

Required profile

• 4‑8 years of relevant financial experience, preferably in retail or wholesale.
• Strong knowledge of analysis, asset management and stakeholder management.
• Proven track record in compliance and control environments.
• Experience with inventory and asset verification, stock control and financial reconciliation.
• Formal qualifications in finance, accounting or related fields.
