Regional Financial Controller – Africa & Middle East

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Regional Financial Controller for Africa and the Middle East within its Molecular Diagnostics division. Based in Roodepoort, the role partners with the General Manager to drive financial performance, ensure the integrity of financial records, and support strategic growth across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports and insightful analysis within agreed timelines.
• Identify business issues, performance gaps and opportunities, and develop corrective action plans.
• Develop and maintain financial plans, forecasts and long‑term business plans (LBE) for the region.
• Ensure compliance and a robust internal control environment for all African and Middle Eastern affiliates.
• Partner with the General Manager to provide financial counsel for strategic investments and growth initiatives.
• Monitor operational performance against financial targets and advise area management on risks and opportunities.
• Support commercial departments to direct investments toward the most profitable activities.
• Drive margin and profit maximisation, with a focus on working‑capital improvement.
