Regional Accountant

About the role

Our client, a leading provider of hygiene services and facilities management solutions, seeks a commercially‑minded Regional Accountant to oversee the financial performance of multiple branches. You will partner closely with regional leadership, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and actionable insights that drive growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting function for several branches within the region.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and regional financial reports.
• Analyse branch performance and deliver commercial insights.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis processes.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and operational expenditure.
• Review balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain financial integrity.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, VAT and company reporting requirements.
• Partner with branch and regional management to improve profitability.
• Strengthen internal controls and identify process‑improvement opportunities.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Assist with annual financial statements and month‑end reporting.
• Mentor and support finance administrators across the region as needed.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• SAIPA or SAICA Articles advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a full‑function accounting role.
• Experience in a multi‑site, branch or regional finance environment preferred.
• Background in facilities management, hygiene services, logistics, security or cleaning services is a plus.
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP or integrated financial systems.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
