Receptionist – Luxury Game Lodge

About the role

The Receptionist is the first point of contact for guests at a 5‑star game lodge, responsible for delivering a memorable first and last impression. The role combines front‑office operations, guest relations, reservations support and concierge services in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, manage check‑in and check‑out procedures, verify reservations and payment details.
• Allocate rooms, issue keys and provide information on lodge facilities, safari activities and local attractions.
• Handle guest enquiries via phone, email and in‑person, process payments and maintain accurate billing records.
• Deliver personalised service, arrange special requests (honeymoon setups, birthdays, VIP amenities) and manage complaints professionally.
• Support reservations by updating booking systems, confirming activity schedules and assisting with room allocation to maximise occupancy.
• Maintain guest profiles, prepare daily arrival/departure reports and ensure confidentiality of documentation.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Kitchen, Food & Beverage and Safari teams to communicate guest needs and activity schedules.
• Provide concierge services such as airport transfers, travel information and onward travel arrangements.

Required profile

• Previous experience in front‑office or reception roles within a luxury hospitality setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional guest service.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, work under pressure and maintain a professional, organised reception area.
• Attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping, billing and guest documentation.
• Team‑player attitude with the capability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments.
