Receptionist – Front Desk & Switchboard

About the role

We are seeking a friendly, professional Receptionist to be the first point of contact at our Head Office. The role involves managing the nationwide switchboard and ensuring visitors receive a warm welcome.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the company switchboard, answer and direct high‑volume calls.
• Take and relay messages accurately when staff are unavailable.
• Greet, welcome and direct visitors, following visitor procedures.
• Maintain a tidy, welcoming reception area.
• Handle incoming mail, parcels and courier arrangements.
• Update contact lists and switchboard information.
• Assist with meeting‑room bookings and visitor coordination.
• Provide general administrative support to the Head Office team.
• Handle confidential information with discretion and escalate queries as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Previous experience in a receptionist, switchboard operator, front‑desk or administrative role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional telephone etiquette and customer‑service orientation.
• Good organisational and administrative abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
