Receptionist – Front Desk Coordinator

About the role

The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for clients, visitors and stakeholders at Santam Construction and Engineering's Illovo office. This role ensures a professional, welcoming experience while supporting smooth day‑to‑day operations and internal communication.

Key responsibilities

• Manage front‑desk operations with a continuous on‑site presence.
• Greet and direct clients, visitors and callers, handling inquiries promptly.
• Coordinate boardroom bookings, meeting logistics and hospitality services.
• Control visitor access, maintain sign‑in procedures and uphold security protocols.
• Provide administrative and ad‑hoc support to various departments as needed.
• Maintain an organized reception area that reflects company standards.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years of experience in a reception, front‑desk or client‑facing administrative role.
• Experience in a corporate or professional services environment, preferably insurance or financial services.
• Strong client‑centric attitude, excellent communication and professional presentation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively and work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
