Qualified Electrician – Umbilo, Durban

About the role

Our client, a well‑established company based in Umbilo, Durban, is looking for a qualified and experienced Electrician to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on, safety‑conscious professional to work on a variety of electrical projects within a stable, growing operation.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment in line with safety standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant SANS codes and OHS Act regulations.
• Test electrical systems and components to confirm safe functionality.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on site.
• Keep tools, equipment, and the work area organised, clean, and safe at all times.

Required profile

• Qualified Electrician with a valid Wireman's Licence.
• Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) required.
• Minimum 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Working knowledge of SANS 10142 wiring code and OHS Act requirements.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport advantageous.
