Qualified Accountant (SAIPA/AGA) – Somerset West

About the role

Latitude Resource is seeking a Professional Accountant to join its fast‑growing accounting services team in Somerset West, Cape Town. The role is ideal for a SAIPA‑registered Professional Accountant or an Associate General Accountant (AGA) with at least two years of post‑article experience.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and review workflow and deliverables for client engagements.
• Ensure timely receipt of tax and financial data from clients.
• Compile, review, and submit financial statements and tax returns.
• Communicate progress, assessments, and SARS correspondence to clients.
• Provide tax‑planning consultations and manage tax affairs for assigned clients.
• Respond to SARS queries and notices and liaise with clients on financial matters.
• Stay current with accounting and tax developments through CPD.
• Manage junior accountants, budgets, and performance targets.

Required profile

• Accounting degree or equivalent.
• SAIPA‑registered Professional Accountant with up‑to‑date CPD, or AGA(SA) registration.
• Minimum two years post‑articles experience in an accounting or auditing practice.
• Registered Tax Practitioner (preferred) and Independent Reviewer registration (beneficial).

Required skills

• Proficiency in CaseWare.
• Proficiency in Xero.
