About the role

De Jongh Accounting is seeking a full‑time Professional Accountant to join its Somerset West office. The role involves delivering high‑quality accounting, tax and advisory services to small and medium‑sized clients across various industries.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements and manage general ledgers.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and oversee bookkeeping tasks.
• Compile and submit tax returns, assist with tax planning and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support clients with budgeting, cash‑flow management and financial reporting.
• Respond to client queries, provide practical advice and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues and adhere to firm policies.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting background with experience in financial statement preparation and ledger management.
• Knowledge of taxation principles and experience preparing tax returns.
• Relevant accounting qualification or degree; professional certification is a plus.
• Experience working with small to medium‑sized businesses, preferably in a public practice.
• Ability to work on‑site in Somerset West, function well within a team and uphold high ethical standards.
