QA Technologist

About the role

RCL Foods is seeking a QA Technologist on a three‑month fixed‑term contract to support food safety and quality compliance in its Pretoria West manufacturing site. Reporting to the Senior QA Technician, the role will drive adherence to internal policies, customer expectations and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and follow up non‑conformance reports (NCRs), verify corrective actions and maintain trend records.
• Investigate customer complaints, update trackers, analyse trends and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Review and update traceability documentation, conduct traceability exercises and close identified gaps.
• Conduct internal food‑safety, GMP and process audits, schedule audits, communicate findings and ensure closure.
• Participate in external third‑party and supplier audits, track findings and implement corrective actions.
• Support new product development teams to ensure quality and safety requirements are met.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• National Diploma or Degree in Quality, Food Technology, Biotechnology or related field.
• Food Safety and HACCP training; FSSC or ISO 22000 knowledge is an advantage.
• Internal auditor qualification.
• 2–3 years experience in FMCG or food manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000 and preferably FSSC 22000 within a QMS.
• Fluent English, computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
