Project Manager – Power Grid & High‑Voltage Projects

About the role

As a Project Manager at Hitachi Energy you will lead complex power‑grid and high‑voltage substation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards. You will work independently, guide junior staff and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, financial plans, schedules and risk documentation together with the Project Lead and Controller.
• Monitor progress, resource utilization and financials, including invoicing, costs, expenses and cash flow.
• Identify, assess and manage risks while pursuing opportunities and capture lessons learned.
• Drive formal project closure and obtain customer acceptance in line with contractual agreements.
• Negotiate and procure services, materials and equipment from internal and external suppliers.
• Support supply‑chain negotiations, claims handling and project change management.
• Coordinate with engineering, service and commissioning teams for high‑ and medium‑voltage installations.
• Serve as the primary customer contact and escalation point for project‑related issues.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental policies and ISO requirements.

Required profile

• University degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience managing power‑grid, high‑voltage substation or transformer projects.
• Proven ability to work with procedures, instructions and process workflows.
• Strong communication, organization and independent decision‑making skills.
• International commercial knowledge and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• SAP MM, SAP SD and SAP Project modules.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• PMP certification.
• PC literacy.
• Technical knowledge of high‑voltage installations and ISO compliance.
