Project Manager – Mining & Engineering

About the role

An experienced Project Manager is needed to oversee engineering and technical projects at a platinum mining operation in Burgersfort, Limpopo. The role covers the full project lifecycle, ensuring safe, on‑time, and on‑budget delivery while meeting technical specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, milestones and forecasts; coordinate engineering, technical, operational and procurement activities.
• Monitor project expenditure, forecasts and cost performance; identify overruns and implement corrective actions.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, chair project meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
• Identify project risks, ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards, and promote continuous improvement.
• Support business development by assisting with proposals, tenders and technical submissions.

Required profile

• BSc or BEng in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ project management experience in engineering, mining or drilling.
• Registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or eligible for registration with ECSA.
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem‑solving abilities; excellent communication in English.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence, medical fitness certificate and clear criminal record.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, planning and scheduling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with MS Project or similar planning software.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or comparable engineering design software.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification is advantageous.
