Project Manager (Intermediate) - Financial Systems

About the role

A client of Parvana is hiring an intermediate Project Manager in Johannesburg, working in a hybrid or remote setting. The client provides financial service solutions to its customers, with a team of over 600 people and an Agile approach focused on research, innovation and improvement. The role leads end-to-end planning, implementation and delivery of software and financial systems projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the full lifecycle of software and financial systems projects, keeping quality, timeline and scope standards.
• Drive Agile delivery across workstreams, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement and retrospectives.
• Act as main contact for key client stakeholders and internal delivery teams, giving regular progress updates.
• Monitor progress against milestones, spot delays early and take corrective action.
• Identify, track and manage dependencies, risks and blockers so development teams can deliver.
• Promote delivery best practices and improve project management workflows.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification (degree or diploma in IT, Business or Finance) preferred.
• At least 5 years of project management experience in financial systems and software development environments.
• Proven hands-on Agile project management experience (Scrum/Kanban).
• Knowledge of the Trust and/or Pension / Retirement Fund industry is a strong advantage.
• Strong critical thinking, proactive problem solving and excellent written and verbal communication with technical and business stakeholders.
