Project Manager – External Systems Integration (EA)

About the role

The Project Manager is responsible for the design, development and overall management of customer projects, ensuring compliance with Siemens Project Management standards and delivering economic results. The role involves close interaction with customers, internal teams and external contractors across South Africa and the wider sub‑Saharan region.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with customers on technical solutions together with Sales or Key Account Managers and clarify requirements in RFPs.
• Prepare tender participation, lead negotiations and coordinate overall project planning and resource allocation.
• Maintain continuous liaison with internal departments, set clear KPIs and monitor milestones, budgets and non‑conformance costs.
• Review project risks, apply mitigation measures and follow contractual claims procedures to maximise opportunities.
• Communicate regularly with customers, contractors and stakeholders, distributing meeting minutes and coordinating on‑site commissioning when required.
• Ensure adherence to PM standards, business conduct guidelines, EHS policies and manage temporarily assigned project staff.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary degree or diploma, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
• South African recognised Project Management qualification or PM@Siemens certification.
• 3‑5 years experience with NEC3 contracts; FIDIC experience is advantageous.
• 5‑8 years experience in the electrical engineering sector (medium voltage or renewables) and in project management with full profit‑and‑loss responsibility.
• Strong administration, time‑management and intercultural skills, with willingness to travel and lead virtual teams across countries.
