Project Manager – Africa

About the role

Metso is seeking a Project Manager for Africa to lead minerals projects from sales through hand‑over to services. Based in Centurion, Gauteng, you will work within the Capex Projects Department, supporting the Head of Project Management and collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and execute minerals projects across the full lifecycle, ensuring budget, schedule and quality targets are met.
• Operate in line with Metso’s Project Management Process and governance, handling man‑hour, cash‑flow and schedule deliverables during the sales phase.
• Conduct project contract reviews and compile execution plans, including procurement and quality‑control plans.
• Perform SAP transactions such as project set‑up, budget reviews, purchase requisitions and financial performance tracking.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts, project schedules, and regular reporting; update SteerCo reports and attend monthly portfolio meetings.
• Manage on‑time delivery using the PEXPRO tool and coordinate hand‑over meetings with services teams.
• Track overdue payments and maintain interfaces with customers, engineering, procurement, suppliers and quality‑control teams.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and an Engineering degree or BTech (Mechanical preferred).
• 5–10 years of experience in a similar industry, preferably mining equipment or minerals projects.
• Project management certification such as CAPM or PMP.
• Demonstrated ability to lead group work, organise teams and interact with diverse stakeholders.
