Project Accounting & Costing Manager – Lyttelton Campus

About the role

The Manager: Project Accounting and Costing will lead financial accounting, costing, budgeting, forecasting and reporting for projects at the Lyttelton Campus. The role supports project managers and business stakeholders with accurate cost control, compliance and timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full project accounting lifecycle, including setup, budgeting, cost allocation, revenue recognition and close‑out.
• Monitor project financial performance against approved budgets and forecasts, maintaining complete and accurate records.
• Review project sales, cost of sales and gross margin reports, and ensure cash‑flow alignment with project plans.
• Coordinate billing, milestone invoicing and collections with project managers and commercial teams.
• Prepare monthly project management accounts and financial reports.
• Develop project budgets in collaboration with stakeholders and perform variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual project forecasts and work‑in‑progress calculations.
• Analyse labour, material and direct costs to ensure accurate costing and support profitability analysis.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, PFMA and internal accounting policies.
