Project Accountant – Johannesburg North

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Project Accountant to join our engineering consultancy team in Randburg. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end project accounting, ensuring financial compliance and accurate reporting for construction and engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets and verify that financials align with allocated budgets and scope.
• Record sub‑consultants’ invoices in the ERP system, allocating costs according to contracts.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project cost reports.
• Liaise with project managers and senior leadership to track and analyse project expenses.
• Perform regular project reconciliations and support audit activities.
• Assist in cost‑benefit analyses and financial forecasts for current and future projects.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial reporting and respond to project‑related inquiries.

Required profile

• Experience in the construction or engineering sector.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• BCom Accounting degree.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and industry standards.
• Self‑starter with the ability to multitask.

What we offer

• Competitive salary package ranging from R45,000 to R50,000 per month.
