Head of Collections

About the role

Lyceum College is looking for a Head of Collections in Randburg to lead the Accounts Receivable function. The role covers strategic and operational leadership of collections, with a focus on optimising cash flow, reducing debtor ageing, minimising bad debt exposure and improving collection performance through a team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the debtors and collections strategy
• Reduce aged debt and long outstanding balances, and manage bad debt recoveries
• Process debit orders and handle EFT collections and payment processing
• Manage customer relationships and resolve disputes and cancellations
• Produce reports and analytics using business intelligence tools
• Run campaign management processes

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Commerce or a related field; a professional finance qualification is advantageous
• Minimum 8 to 10 years' experience in debtors management
• Proven experience managing a debtors/collections team
• Strong service industry experience

• Advanced Excel skills
• Debtors ageing analysis and collection workflow management systems
• Knowledge of Excalibur, ICAS, Ezra, Genesis, Hyphen and Dialler
• Leadership, analytical thinking, attention to detail and communication skills
