About the role

The Department of Industrial Psychology at Stellenbosch University seeks qualified candidates for senior academic positions ranging from Lecturer to Professor. The successful applicant will join a vibrant team dedicated to producing scientifically informed human‑resource practitioners and industrial psychologists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide academic and managerial leadership within the department (Professor/Associate Professor level).
• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management.
• Supervise master’s and doctoral research projects and oversee student internships.
• Conduct and publish high‑quality research in accredited journals.
• Present research findings at national and international conferences.
• Participate in internal and external service activities, including community impact programmes.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in Industrial Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Professional registration with the Professional Board for Psychology as an industrial psychologist.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• Proven record of research supervision and scholarly publications appropriate to the appointed rank.
• For senior ranks: 7‑10 years of teaching experience and recognized research leadership.
• For senior lecturer rank: 2‑6 years of relevant experience.

Required skills

• Advanced statistical computing: R, SPSS, SAS, LISREL, Mplus.
• Qualitative data analysis: ATLAS.ti, NVivo.
