Professor / Associate Professor – Chemistry Department

About the role

The Department of Chemistry is seeking experienced academics to fill senior teaching and research positions at the level of Professor or Associate Professor. Successful candidates will provide academic leadership, deliver high‑quality instruction, and advance the department’s research profile.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in analytical chemistry and related topics.
• Supervise Master’s and Doctoral students to successful completion.
• Develop and lead research programmes, publish in reputable journals, and secure external funding.
• Engage with the wider community through outreach and collaborative projects.
• Participate in departmental, faculty and university governance, including potential appointment as Head of Department.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemistry.
• Extensive teaching experience in analytical chemistry at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Proven record of supervising graduate research to completion.
• National or international reputation in the discipline, with a strong publication record and success in obtaining research funding.
• Experience in academic administration, management or leadership roles.
