Production Supervisor – FMCG Manufacturing in Montagu, Western Cape

About the role

The company is seeking a Production Supervisor to join a dynamic FMCG manufacturing team in Montagu, Western Cape. The role focuses on overseeing daily production operations, ensuring resource efficiency, compliance with quality and food‑safety standards, and effective staff management.

Key responsibilities

• Define daily duties, rotate staff for multitasking, monitor time‑keeping and ensure tasks are completed effectively.
• Maintain equipment according to work instructions, report faulty measuring devices and manage equipment issuance.
• Monitor processing parameters, enforce SOPs, report non‑conformances and maximise production efficiency.
• Ensure cleaning standards are met, complete cleaning validation documentation and oversee hygiene monitoring.
• Control storage practices, including allergen management and address any deviations.
• Conduct random pre‑batch inspections of raw materials, weights and traceability information.
• Lead daily invocoms, communicate key information to staff and attend operational meetings.
• Participate in factory trials and support ad‑hoc projects assigned by the Production Manager.
• Assist with stock‑taking activities and ensure accurate completion of production documentation.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Strong attention to detail and quality awareness.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, lift up to 25 kg and work at heights if required.
• Ability to understand and interpret written and spoken instructions.
