Production Manager – FMCG Manufacturing

About the role

RCL Foods is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead processing and packing operations at its Nelspruit facility. The role focuses on delivering safety, quality, cost and productivity targets within a fast‑paced FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead production operations to meet safety, quality, cost and productivity goals.
• Optimize labour, equipment and material utilisation to maximise plant performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Manage departmental budgets and support capital project implementation.
• Coach and develop teams to achieve operational and strategic objectives.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, health, safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Planning and SHEQ teams for seamless operations.
• Monitor and report on key operational KPIs and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Production Management, Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 6‑7 years experience in FMCG manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a management role.
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations, SHEQ, labour relations, budgeting and continuous improvement.
• Wheat or Maize milling qualification and practical experience is advantageous.
