Product Readiness Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated professional Product Readiness Engineer to support new vehicle model introductions by developing and maintaining accurate technical publications, owner information, and service literature. The role ensures technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and effective delivery of vehicle information to support successful product launches and dealer service operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain localized service information, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and South African market suitability.
• Validate technical information with key stakeholders and ensure accurate, timely publication within launch targets.
• Assess engineering changes and new model launches, updating service information and delivering on time.
• Monitor and improve technical content quality through dealer feedback, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Resolve dealer technical issues and service information gaps, implementing corrective actions promptly.
• Develop and validate market‑specific service literature and in‑vehicle information to ensure launch readiness.
• Support cost reduction and customer satisfaction through accurate service information and effective repair solutions.
• Coordinate special tool and equipment requirements to ensure dealer readiness for engineering changes and new product launches.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent automotive‑related qualification.
• Minimum 3 years post‑graduate experience in automotive engineering, vehicle diagnostics, technical analysis and problem solving.
• Proven experience in automotive product support and new model introductions, including investigation, diagnosis and resolution of vehicle‑related technical issues.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Volkswagen and Audi products, vehicle systems and emerging technologies.
