Procurement Manager - ZAF Inventory Management

About the role

This Procurement Manager role is central to the success of the ZAF inventory management teams and sets their strategic direction. It suits someone with a varied background in supply chain management, with particular focus on inventory management principles and techniques. The postholder oversees the vendor application process, procures non-stock items and works with different departments to reduce high stock levels.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the ZAF Purchasing Teams
• Drive regular reporting, including Key Performance Metrics for supply chain management
• Lead the team to achieve group and personal objectives, especially profit improvement, service attainment and personal growth
• Ensure supplier details and product price information are kept accurate on the system
• Manage inbound freight costs to optimise supply chain costs
• Review and suggest process improvements to bring efficiencies and cost savings
• Develop supplier relationships, introduce measurement tools to improve supplier performance and maintain supply and quality agreements
• Influence internal customers and communicate regularly with key stakeholders
• Implement and maintain budgetary control, reporting to the Executive Director Europe and the Financial Manager ZAF
• Ensure compliance with company quality systems, Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and other regulatory bodies
• Support the business in reducing high stock levels

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in an international company at senior management level
• Thorough knowledge of supply chain processes and a comprehensive understanding of ERP systems
• Results and profit oriented, commercially aware and process driven
• Excellent negotiator, clear communicator and well-developed influencing ability
