Procurement Lead – One Africa

About the role

The Procurement Lead for One Africa will drive the strategic sourcing of direct materials needed for Cipla’s manufacturing sites and contract manufacturing organisations. The role ensures continuous supply, cost efficiency and the development of alternate suppliers while maintaining strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic procurement plans to secure raw materials, APIs, excipients and packaging.
• Maintain supply security and material availability for Mirren, CMM and CMO sites.
• Lead supplier relationship management, performance monitoring and compliance activities.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and deliver value through competitive sourcing.
• Manage commercial contracts, risk mitigation and business continuity plans.
• Provide market intelligence, continuous improvement and support team capability development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Pharmacy, Engineering or related field; postgraduate qualification or CIPS advantageous.
• 8‑10 years progressive procurement/strategic sourcing experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing.
• Proven experience managing significant direct‑material spend and complex supplier portfolios.
• Strong background in API, excipient/raw material and packaging sourcing, negotiation and SRM.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership skills and multi‑site manufacturing exposure.
