Process Engineer

About the role

Calibre Life Science is seeking a practical Process Engineer to join its Process Department. You will work on multidisciplinary life‑science projects across South Africa, supporting design, construction and commissioning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop process designs from concept to detailed design, including BFDs, PFDs and P&IDs.
• Perform mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, pipeline and hydraulic calculations.
• Specify and integrate process equipment such as tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, skids, CIP and SIP systems.
• Prepare URSs, technical specifications, datasheets, equipment lists and schedules.
• Participate in risk assessments, including HAZOP studies.
• Support CAPEX estimates, RFQs, bid evaluations and procurement.
• Conduct site inspections and provide hands‑on support during installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and handover.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, contractors and other engineering disciplines while reporting project progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or BTech in Chemical or Process Engineering.
• Minimum two years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary project environment.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, analytical ability and practical problem‑solving skills.
• Clear technical communication, good documentation habits and ability to work both independently and in teams.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within South Africa.
