Process Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our Engineering team in Springs. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will drive operational excellence by optimizing production processes, improving equipment performance, and leading sustainability initiatives across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed mass and energy balances to verify process capability and support optimisation projects.
• Develop, maintain and analyse PFDs and P&IDs for process understanding, modification and compliance.
• Lead and support capital and operational projects, including scope development, design reviews, contractor management, FATs/SATs and commissioning.
• Perform operational analysis of equipment and processes, including downtime studies, efficiency tracking and benchmarking.
• Carry out hydraulic calculations (pressure drop, line sizing, pump selection) for design changes and troubleshooting.
• Apply chemical, mechanical and process engineering principles to improve throughput and address deviations.
• Implement global best practices to standardise processes, enhance safety and advance sustainability goals.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Safety and Operations to ensure food‑safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Lead data‑driven decision making through statistical analysis and trend interpretation.
• Champion process safety by identifying, assessing and mitigating risks.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (BTech/BEng).
• 5‑8 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated project ownership with measurable technical contributions and field exposure.
• Leadership ability and experience facilitating team problem‑solving.

Required skills

• Mass and energy balance analysis.
• Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Hydraulic calculations (pressure drop, line sizing, pump selection).
• Statistical analysis and data trending.
• FAT/SAT execution and commissioning.
• Process safety risk assessment.
• Utility usage analysis (steam, water, compressed air, refrigeration).
