Process Engineer

About the role

The Engineering team in Wadeville is seeking a Process Engineer to drive operational excellence across the plant. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will apply chemical engineering expertise to optimise production processes, improve equipment performance and lead sustainability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed mass and energy balances to verify process capability and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Develop, maintain and analyse PFDs and P&IDs for process understanding, modification and compliance.
• Lead capital and operational projects, including scope development, design reviews, contractor management, FAT/SAT and commissioning.
• Perform operational analysis such as downtime studies, efficiency tracking and performance benchmarking.
• Execute hydraulic calculations (pressure drop, line sizing, pump selection) to support design changes and system upgrades.
• Implement global best practices to standardise processes, enhance safety and advance the plant’s sustainability agenda.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Safety and Operations to ensure food‑safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Support data‑driven decision making through statistical analysis, trending and interpretation of process data.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical Engineering (BTech/BEng) with 5‑8 years of relevant experience.
• Proven project ownership with measurable technical contributions.
• Leadership ability and experience facilitating team problem‑solving.
