Principal – Sustainable Finance Solutions

About the role

The Principal – Sustainable Finance Solutions will lead the design and delivery of sustainable finance structuring and advisory services for Nedbank’s clients. The role focuses on creating innovative, revenue‑generating solutions that support both client objectives and Nedbank’s sustainability goals across South Africa and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and nurture stakeholder relationships through meetings, calls and informal interactions.
• Conduct feasibility assessments, research market trends and develop pricing models for sustainable finance proposals.
• Source, originate and structure innovative transactions that advance sustainability objectives.
• Prepare and present tailored client proposals, respond to RFPs and lead internal governance committees.
• Collaborate with internal teams to embed sustainability advisory services into the broader client proposition.
• Manage transaction execution, including analysis, negotiation, coordination and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Honours degree (or equivalent) with professional qualifications such as CA(SA), CFA, MBA, MSc Finance, ESG or sustainability certification.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate finance or a client‑facing advisory environment.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain high‑value client relationships and to drive new business opportunities.
• Strong understanding of governance, risk, regulatory frameworks and sustainable finance trends.
