Pricing Specialist – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term (Johannesburg)

About the role

The Pricing Specialist will support the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer in shaping and executing pricing strategies for new products, services and market opportunities within the telecommunications sector. This 12‑month fixed‑term position is based in Johannesburg and focuses on delivering profitable pricing models while ensuring compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop pricing strategies for new products, services and markets and obtain executive approval.
• Research market relevance of product services, analyse results and produce detailed reports.
• Perform cost‑analysis versus pricing margins and present findings to the CFO for approval.
• Provide account managers with tailored pricing models to meet specific customer solutions.
• Drive approved commercial models for projects and new market offerings.
• Facilitate pricing proposals and secure pricing committee approval during tenders.
• Negotiate pricing with customers where required and manage pricing audit findings in collaboration with finance, sales and marketing.
• Maintain and regularly review the pricing policy, producing monthly, quarterly and annual pricing reports covering proposals, break‑even points, customer profitability and market trends.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Pricing Analyst or in a comparable role.
• At least 3 years experience in a telecommunications environment.
• Minimum 3 years experience developing and defining pricing structures.
• CIMA professional registration is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of market research, statistical analysis and attention to detail.
