PR / External Communications Manager

About the role

The PR / External Communications Manager will shape and strengthen the public reputation of a global portfolio of digital products. Working fully remote from South Africa, you will develop and execute PR initiatives, thought‑leadership content, and reputation‑management strategies to increase brand awareness. You will also support senior executives’ public profiles and contribute to crisis communications.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute PR and external communications campaigns that enhance product reputation and support marketing goals.
• Design creative, potentially viral PR initiatives from concept through measurement.
• Manage online reputation through paid placements, Search Engine Reputation Management (SERM), and branded search monitoring.
• Write, edit, and oversee press materials, SEO‑focused articles, thought‑leadership pieces, and executive communications.
• Coordinate user‑review generation and management to bolster brand perception.
• Oversee external vendors, PR agencies, freelancers, and other communication partners.
• Support C‑level executives by preparing content, identifying media opportunities, and managing external engagements.
• Assist with event planning, messaging, and communications activities as needed.
• Collaborate with Marketing, SEO, Legal, and specialist partners on reputation and brand‑protection initiatives.
• Contribute to crisis communications and issue‑management efforts.

Required profile

• Professional experience in PR, external communications, corporate communications, or reputation management.
• Excellent writing and editing abilities, adaptable to different audiences and channels.
• Strong understanding of online reputation‑management practices.
• Good knowledge of SEO principles and ability to create SEO‑optimized content.
