Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Business Innovations & Entrepreneurship

About the role

The Department of Business Innovations and Entrepreneurship at the University of Fort Hare is seeking a post‑doctoral fellow to support its research agenda on women and youth entrepreneurship. This 24‑month fixed‑term fellowship runs from 2026 to 2028 and focuses on producing high‑quality scholarly output.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research aligned with the department’s focus on business innovation and entrepreneurship.
• Prepare and submit research papers for peer‑review, targeting at least two units per year.
• Collaborate with faculty members and contribute to ongoing research projects.
• Present findings at academic conferences and departmental seminars.
• Maintain regular progress reports for the Postgraduate Studies office.

Required profile

• Doctorate (completed within the last five years) in Business Management, Entrepreneurship or a related discipline.
• If the doctorate is pending, a formal statement from the issuing university confirming completion requirements.
• Not currently employed by the University of Fort Hare or any other institution during the fellowship.
• Open to candidates of any nationality, with preference given to South African females.
