Plant Operator – Water Treatment & Flocculent Operations

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Plant Operator to join our client’s water treatment facility in Umbogintwini, Durban. The role involves hands‑on water sampling, basic analysis, and ensuring smooth operation of the flocculent plant within a mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect water samples and perform basic chemical analysis.
• Maintain and calibrate water treatment and dosing equipment.
• Monitor pipelines, dosing systems, and flocculent plant operations.
• Provide weekly and monthly reports to the Key Account Manager.
• Troubleshoot technical issues on‑site and resolve them promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and daily housekeeping.
• Interact with customers on‑site and report to company management.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification with Mathematics and Science.
• Medically fit and no criminal record.
• At least 2 years of experience in flocculent plant operations.
• Previous experience in a mining (surface) environment.
• Basic English communication and computer skills.
• Willingness to work shift patterns.
