Pharmacy Technician – Acute Pharmacy Service (Aberdeen)

About the role
We are seeking an ambitious, qualified Pharmacy Technician to join the Acute Pharmacy Service within the Clinical Pharmacy team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. You will work at ward level alongside a multidisciplinary team and clinical pharmacists, contributing to safe and effective inpatient medication management.
Key responsibilities
- Perform medicines reconciliation and chart review for in‑patients.
- Provide medicines for inpatient use and ensure accurate dispensing at ward level.
- Offer patient counselling and support discharge planning.
- Check dispensing accuracy and verify medication charts.
- Support, train and supervise less experienced technicians and pharmacy students.
Required profile
- Qualified, registered Pharmacy Technician with post‑registration experience.
- Hold a dispensary checking technician qualification (or be willing to obtain it).
- Experience working in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred.
