Pharmacist – Retail Pharmacy (Full‑time)

About the role

Essential Health Pharmacy Group is expanding its retail network and is looking for a qualified Pharmacist to join the Brackenfell store. You will deliver high‑quality pharmaceutical care, ensure accurate dispensing, and support customers with their medication needs in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' medication requirements, ensuring safety, efficacy and compliance.
• Interpret and dispense prescriptions in line with South African Pharmacy Council regulations.
• Correct rejected scripts, manage claims with medical aid schemes, and maintain accurate records.
• Provide pharmacist‑initiated therapy and counsel patients on proper medication use.
• Supervise or participate in the compounding of medicines where required.
• Stay updated on changes to medical aid procedures and pharmacy best practices.

Required profile

• BPharm or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council.
• Ability to work retail hours and stand for long periods.
• Strong communication, customer‑service focus and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
