Pharmacist Intern – Okavango Store (Kraaifontein)

About the role

Dis-Chem is seeking a motivated Pharmacist Intern to join the Okavango store in Kraaifontein. This internship provides hands‑on experience in a retail pharmacy environment, focusing on patient‑centred pharmaceutical care and professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with dispensing, compounding, and labeling of medicines under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
• Handle the sale and distribution of Schedule 1‑6 medicines, ensuring compliance with the Medicines Act.
• Support stock management, ordering, and re‑packaging of pharmaceutical products.
• Interpret prescriptions accurately, capture script details, and verify patient information in the system.
• Provide customers with clear instructions on medication use and promote health education.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and enrollment in a BPharm (4‑year) programme.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
• Availability to work during holidays or as part of a work‑study arrangement.
